Name: Ruri Saionji
Age: 14
Sex: Female
Grade: 9th
Birthday: 9/16

Appearance: Ruri has shoulder length, chestnut brown hair in which she often wears a small hair clip. Ruri is small busted and has a slight complex regarding her chest size; she feels inferior when compared to girls with bigger bust sizes. A bit of a tomboy, Ruri is known to always wear shorts under her skirts and dresses.

Personality: To most people Ruri comes off as the sensible ‘big sister’ type, but in reality, she’s short tempered, prideful, and has an improper attitude with some slight tomboyish tendencies and insecurities. Despite these negative traits, Ruri tries to treat almost everyone with her generous respect. Ruri has a sort of dry sense of humor that tends to come out, and she feels that she can truly express herself on her uprising blog. Her passion for journalism seemed to stem from nowhere, but she dedicates a majority of her time for it. Her ‘sisterly’ side shows as she uses her blogging to help people, as well as posting the newest and hottest stories. Ruri dreams of one day being a famous reporter with the best stories out there to share. Ruri has a strong fear of bugs and a keen sense of justice, which is represented a lot in her blogs when she puts her two cents in.

History:
Ruri was born on September 14. Her mother Misaka had her at a very young age. When Misaka was 14 years old, she accidentally got pregnant with her boyfriend at the time. She wasn’t even aware of her condition until she was six months in, and instead of support, she was met with animosity. Her boyfriend dumped her not wanting anything to do with a child, her school kicked her out worried it would ruin their reputation to have a pregnant girl on the roster, and her parents were very upset over the matter.

When Misaka informed her parents that she planned on having and keeping her daughter she was met with their disapproval. After Ruri’s birth Misaka was cut off by her parents. With no other option she moved to the city to find work. Misaka raised Ruri by herself in a single room flat in a neighborhood that was not the best. Thankfully her neighbors, an older couple whom were lonely because their own daughter had moved out to start her own life, were very helpful. This couple, the Higurashi’s, helped Misaka out whenever they could by watching Ruri and sometimes feeding the small family. Eventually Misaka was able to earn enough to move into a bigger flat, grateful for the help she received and not wanting to leave the older couple, Misaka stayed in the same apartment complex. Misaka didn’t mind; she was just happy to give her daughter her own room, especially with her getting older.

Ruri grew up only really knowing her mother having no other connections to the rest of her family or father. She sees the Higurashi’s like her grandparents and spends a lot of time with them, especially since her mother tends to be working so Ruri doesn’t get to see her too much. As a child she enjoyed writing in a journal about everyday things she saw or heard. She eventually turned it into an online blog which is slowly blowing up and feeding her passion of one day being a reporter. She spends most of her days at home on her computer if she’s not out and about getting the latest scope.

Family:

Misaka Saionji – Age 28, Ruri’s mother
Misaka is very young for a mother and gets mistaken for Ruri’s sister quite often. She is well endowed and tends to wear tight shirts which emphasize her bust size, something that irritates Ruri to no end. Misaka acts more like a child than Ruri and comes off as irresponsible, which is the polar opposite to her daughter’s very responsible personality. Misaka picks on her daughters shortcomings playfully, such as her small bust size and lack of a love life, but in reality she would do anything for her daughter.

Rarely home Misaka spends most of her time working as a construction worker. The hours are long but the pay is good. Every once in a while she likes to go out drinking with her coworkers; she doesn’t have a drinking problem though. Misaka has very low tolerance for alcohol but it never stops her. When drunk she tends to be very clingy especially towards young men that she finds attractive. In this state Misaka especially enjoys embarrassing Ruri much to her annoyance.

Mr. Higurashi – Age 53, Older gentleman that lives a floor down from Ruri
He was there to help Misaka when she needed it the most. He lives with his wife and still works as a fisherman and often leaves on trips. He likes to bring Ruri gifts back from his trip treating Ruri like she was his granddaughter.

Mrs. Higurashi – Age 51, Older lady that lives a floor down from Ruri
She was there for Misaka when she came to Tokyo on her own; saddened by her own daughters leaving she felt it was her job to help the young mother. She keeps an eye on Ruri for Misaka when she is working late and tends to cook meals for the girl and drop them off. She gets lonely when her husband is gone since she herself is retired so Ruri keeps her company when she can.

Neighborhood: Ruri lives in a pretty small, two room flat in a rundown complex. It is on the poorer side of town and not one of the best neighborhoods, but it’s safe from a lot of crime so Ruri feels safe. She lives on the fourth floor while her close friends, the Higurashi’s, live on the floor below next to their old one room flat.

Job: Not old enough to get a part time job, but she works for the school paper and her online blog which are all nonprofit. Other than that she depends on her mother Misaka for money.

Transportation: Ruri takes the train to school and rides her bike to the local places around her apartment building when needed.

Dating Status: Ruri is single and has never dated anyone before.

Social Status: Ruri tends to make friends easily especially with the females in her class that tend to act respectful. She tries to stay out of trouble but tends to get teased by the boys in her class for her boyish ways especially when she wears shorts under her school uniform. She is popular online with her upcoming blog and has many friends and followers she has never meet before.
